Services Held
Evelyn E. Edwards Wilson, 76, a longtime resident of Monroe died Sunday, November 15, 1992, at the Griffin Nursing Center in Knoxville.
Funeral services were Wednesday at the Monroe United Methodist Church.
The Rev. Karen Merrill, pastor of the church conducted services.
Burial was in the Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
Memorials to the Monroe Ambulance Fund or the Central Iowa Hospice will be accepted.
Survivors are two daughters, Phyllis (Mrs. John Elmer) Bartlow of Unionville, Missouri, and Margie (Mrs. Ronald) Dotson of Royse City, Texas; a sister, Hilda Neeley of Prairie City; two brothers, Lawrence Edwards of Beaverton, Oregon, and Wayne Edwards of Tigard, Oregon.
Also surviving are three grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two foster grandchildren, six foster great grandchildren, and a foster great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Clyde, two brothers and a sister.
Mrs. Wilson was a member of the Monroe United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Homebuilders Sunday School Class and the Women’s Relief Corps.
A restaurant worker, she had been employed by Duncan’s Café in Monroe for more than 30 years.
The daughter of Lytle and Allie Botsford Edwards, she was born December 29, 1915 in Bemidji, Minnesota.
She received her high school certificate from the American School of Correspondence in Chicago, Illinois in 1962.
She was married to Clyde Wilson June 2, 1934 in Newton.
