Life Story of Clyde W. Wilson
Clyde W. Wilson, 68, a lifelong resident of the Newton and Reasnor communities, died Sunday morning at Skiff Memorial Hospital in Newton.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Johnson Funeral Chapel.
The Rev. Arthur Campney, pastor of the St. Luke Methodist Church, conducted the services. Burial was in Palo Alto Cemetery.
Survivors are his wife, Velda; three daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Betty) Van Zee of Artesia, Calif., Mrs. John (Florence) Nimmo of Boone and Mrs. Delbert (Pat) Ohrt of Manchester, N.H.; a granddaughter of Artesia, Calif.; two brothers, Leslie and Laurel Wilson, both of Newton; three sisters, Mrs. Sam (Fern) Hallam of Newton, Mrs. Kenneth (Edith) Smith of Newton and Mrs. Phil (Ruby) Trent of Newton; and his mother, Mrs. Lydia Wilson of Newton.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bert Wilson, in 1965.
Mr. Wilson was a member of St. Luke Methodist Church.
He retired from the Maytag Co. in 1965 where he was employed as an inspector.
The son of Bert and Lydia Bigley Wilson, he was born July 9, 1902 near Reasnor and attended Jasper County schools.
He was married to Velda White June 6, 1952 at Bloomfield.
