Life Story of Carl E. Wilson
Carl Edwin Wilson passed away at the Altoona Manor Care Center on Friday, Aug. 19th, 1977, at the age of eighty-six years, three months and twenty-four days.
Funeral services were held August 21, at 2:00 at the United Methodist Church in Monroe with Rev. Jerry B. Wolcott officiating. Interment was in the Silent City Cemetery of Monroe.
Survivors are seven children, Carlene, Mrs. Glen Smool of Whitten, Iowa; Della, Mrs. Virgil Birkenholtz of Prairie City, Iowa; Carol, Mrs. George Van Zee of Scottsdale, Arizona; Carl E. Wilson, Jr. of Mingo, Iowa; Chester H. Dawson of Monroe; Genevieve, Mrs. Clair Slocum of Bondurant; and Darrol D. Dawson of Monroe. There are sixteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren also surviving.
Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Paul Wilson, four grandchildren, and two brothers.
Carl was born at Reasnor, Iowa, on April 25th, 1891, the son of Elisha and Della M. (Carnahan) Wilson. On May 16th, 1923, he was united in marriage to Pearl Botsford, who also survives him.
