Life Story of Anna Wilson
Anna Margaret Ticknor Wilson was born March 26, 1877 at Stuart to Albert and Helen Ticknor. She had spent the past 13 years at the Elm Creek Nursing Home in Des Moines. She passed away at the Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines March 29 at the age of 91 years and three days.
She spent her younger life in Stuart and Dexter.
She was married March 12, 1902 to Ernest L. Wilson. To this union one son, Ralph Willard, was born. They made their home on a farm near Reasnor until moving to Monroe in 1948.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest, a son, Willard, her parents, one brother and one sister.
She leaves a daughter-in-law, Opal Wilson of Monroe; two grandchildren, Mrs. Carol (Ula Mae) Herwehe of Newton, and Dean Wilson of Knoxville; three great grandchildren, Jackie Herwehe of the U.S. Navy; Brenda Jo and Mary Ann Wilson of Knoxville; one great-great-granddaughter, Cheryl Kay Herwehe of Newton; one brother, Willis Ticknor of Omaha, Nebr.; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Wilson were held Monday in the Monroe Methodist Church. The Rev. James V. Poulsen, minister of the church conducted the services. Burial was in Monroe Silent City Cemetery.
Katherine Lubberden was the organist.
Pallbearers were Bill McKee, Willard McGregor, Kenneth Carnahan, Melvin Zickel, Lloyd Zickel, and Bill Sargent.
