Services Thursday
Services for Evard M. Williamz will be held today, Thursday, June 27, 2002, at 1:30 p.m. at the Monroe United Methodist Church. Pastor Harold Koughn will officiate the services. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Spirit Lake, Iowa, at a later date.
Evard passed away Saturday, June 22, 2002, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.
The son of L. F. Williamz and Bertha Mae (Morton) Williamz, Evard was born August 30, 1905, in Spirit Lake, Iowa. He graduated from Spirit Lake High School and attended Buena Vista for two years on June 18, 1927; he married Glennie Elizabeth Albert in Dennison, Iowa. He lived in Monroe since 1979.
He belonged to the Monroe United Methodist Church, Spirit Lake Masonic Lodge, and Forever Young in Monroe. He had been a rural mail carrier in Spirit Lake retiring in 1964.
Survivors are one daughter, Suzanne Gregerson and her husband, Art, of Monroe; 6 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
He was preceded by his parents, wife in 1996, 2 sisters, Thoda and Thora, a grandson, Michael and a great grandson, Addam.
Memorials to the Monroe United Methodist Church have been recommended by the family.
