Life Story of Mrs. Lina Williams
Lina Dott Warner was born January 3, 1890 at Prairie City, the daughter of Lorenzo Dow and Octavia Kennedy Warner and passed from this life December 24, 1966 while hospitalized at Newton at the age of 76 years, 11 months and 21 days. As a girl she was educated in the schools at Prairie City. On May 27, 1909 she was united in marriage with Elmer G. Williams at Prairie City. Three daughters were born to this union. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
Her husband preceded her in death on July 4, 1966.
She leaves to mourn her passing three daughters: Mrs. F. G. (Reva) Scofield of Davenport, Mrs. Frank (Wanda) Kutchin of Prairie City, and Mrs. O. W. (Elva) Owens of Newton. Her five grandchildren are Mrs. Merle (Anna Mae) Duffey of Davenport, Mrs. Maurey (Judy) Miller of Minneapolis, Minn. and Jane Kutchen of Des Moines as well as James and Joseph Owens of Newton. Two great grandchildren, Jo Ann Duffey and Matt Miller, survive. Her three sisters, Mrs. W. R. (Mae) Springer of Gafton, Mrs. Bert (Belle) Van Vark of Pella, and Mrs. Percy (Blanche) Conley of Prairie City, as well as two brothers, L. D. Warner of Newton and Oakley (Coke) Warner of Fullerton, Calif., also survive.
Rev. James V. Poulsen, pastor of the Monroe Methodist Church officiated at the service held December 26, 1966 in Prairie City. Burial was in Waveland Cemetery at Prairie City.
Pallbearers were Dean Vaught, Fred Brannen, John Van Ryswyk, Ralph Van Wyk, Dick Aalbers and Paul Colyn.
