Services Held
Services for Mae Williams, were held Thursday, September 6, 2001, at the Walters Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax. Rev. Wayne Murrow officiated the services. Burial was in the Colfax Cemetery.
Mae Williams died Sunday, September 2, 2001, at Kavanagh House in Des Moines, Iowa, from cancer, at the age of 80.
Memorial contributions may be made to Kavanagh House.
Mae Arlene Williams was born on April 18, 1921, in Dunreath, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Edith (Simbro) Gulling. A lifelong resident of Jasper County, Mae was united in marriage to Charles Edward Williams on January 10, 1937, in Monroe. She moved to Colfax with her family in 1957.
She is survived by two sons, Orvil Williams and his wife, Cheryl and Martin Williams, both of Colfax, nine grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Florence Gulling of Shelton, Washington, and Grace Langford of Williamson, Iowa; five brothers, Orville Gulling of Shelton, Washington, Donald Gulling of Sparta, Missouri, Floyd Gulling of Bedias, Texas, Edward Gulling of Omaha, Nebraska, and Gerold Gulling of Colfax, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, a daughter, two sons, two sisters, and three brothers.
