Our community was shocked on Wednesday morning by the tidings that Mr. J. M. Whitted, one mile east of town, one of Fairview township’s oldest and most respected citizens had departed this life. Although it was known he was quite ill of typhoid fever, the report was prevalent that he was improving. His death occurred on Tuesday evening at 10 o’clock. In his death the community loses a good citizen.
