Mrs. Frank Whitlatch Died September 27
Helen Lucille, daughter of Ray and Mabel Hagan, was born in Monroe, Iowa on January 2, 1917 and passed away at the Collins Memorial Hospital in Knoxville, Iowa on Friday, September 27th at the age of 23 years, 8 months and 5 days.
Her mother preceded her in death when she was only 21 months of age. At the request of her mother, she then made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Claude Rees. When she was a child, the Rees family moved from Monroe to Knoxville, where they have since made their home.
On August 1, 1938 she was united in marriage to Frank Whitlatch and to this union was born one son, George Edward.
Besides her husband and infant son, she leaves to mourn her departure, her father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hagan, one brother, Howard of Monroe, an uncle, W. R. Hagan, of Knoxville, two step-brothers, Burton Coffman of Des Moines, Bernard Coffman of Monroe, one step-sister, Mrs. Helen Linnberg of Moline, Illinois, her foster parents and grandmother, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Rees and Mrs. Margaret Rees, and one foster brother, Carl Rees, all of Knoxville.
One sister, Mrs. Vernon Six, preceded in death in January 198.
Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon at the First Methodist Church in Knoxville, conducted by the Rev. T. C. Kennedy. Interment was in the cemetery at Monroe, Iowa.
