Services Held
Funeral services for Donald Arthur Wheeler, 50, a lifelong resident of the Monroe area, were held Thursday, October 14, 1993, at the Monroe Presbyterian Church.
Dr. Thomas Bass, pastor of the church, conducted services.
Graveside military rites were conducted by Fred Slayden American Legion Post in Monroe at Silent City Cemetery.
Memorials to the Monroe Emergency Unit will be accepted.
Mr. Wheeler, an equipment operator for Corell Construction in Des Moines, died Monday, October 11, 1993 at his home.
Survivors are a son, Daniel Maxwell Wheeler of Gilmore City; and two sisters, Norma (Mrs. lee) Parr of Monroe and Arlene Ruth (Mrs. Robert W) Schneider of Mount Vernon.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Wheeler served in the Army for four years.
The son of Max Winfield and Marie Rietveld Wheeler, he was born August 14, 1943 in Galesburg.
He was a 1961 graduate of Monroe Community High School.
