Services Held
Services were held for Elise Marilyn Warrick Tuesday, November 23, 1999, at the First Baptist Church in Monroe. Rev. Greg Baum, pastor, officiated the services. Interment was in Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
Elise Marilyn Warrick, age 80, passed away Saturday, November 20, 1999, at Des Moines General Hospital.
She was born at Monroe, January 28, 1919, the daughter of Rae and Lulu (Peet) Zerley. A graduate of the Monroe High School, Elise also attended the Capital City Commercial College in Des Moines. On September 17, 1938, she was united in marriage to William “Bill” Warrick at Monroe. They farmed in the Prairie City area until his death July 20, 1984. Elise was a member of the Monroe First Baptist Church (where she taught Sunday School for many years). A memorial for the church has been designated by the family. She was also a 4-H leader in the Prairie City area. She enjoyed being a homemaker, and did work outside the home for several years. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Elise is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Norbert Bruns, Denver, Iowa, a son Bill of Prairie City, four grandchildren: Scott, Chad and wife Molly, and Kim Bruns, and Matthew Warrick, two great grandchildren Zachary and Alexis Bruns, and a brother Bernard and wife Lavon Zerley of Monroe. Also surviving is a sister-in-law Florence Warrick of Prairie City.
Preceding her in death were her husband, her parents and an infant sister Bernita.
