Services for Ruth Gerdena Waddle, 87 of Prairie City were held Monday, August 28, 2000, at the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. Rev. John Poe, pastor, officiated the services. Burial was in Waveland Cemetery in Prairie City. She passed away Thursday, August 24, 2000, at Clearview Manor in Prairie City.
Born May 31, 1916, in Marion County, Iowa. Ruth was the daughter of Lawrence and Frances McCoy Carter. She married George Waddle February 25, 1940 in Marion County, Iowa. She was a lifelong Prairie City resident and was a homemaker. She belongs to the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church.
Survivors are two sons, Ralph of Pleasantville and Ronald and wife Yvonne of Traer, Iowa, five grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother and one sister: Verlin Carter of Monroe and Lola Bullington of Pleasant Hill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant sister, and her husband.
