Services Held
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 28, 1983, at the First Baptist Church for Merle G. Waddle. Officiating was Rev. Greg Boyle and Rev. Eldon Pals. Burial in Silent City Cemetery.
Merle G. Waddle died Dec. 26, 1983, at the Jasper County Care Facility at the age of 88 years. She was born April 9, 1895 in Monroe, the daughter of Clint and Mary Wilson Clevenger. She married George Waddle in 1913.
Survivors include: Doyle Waddle of Monroe, Mrs. Forrest “Jack” (Wanda) Walker of Monroe, Mrs. John (Velda) Munson of Belleville, Kan., Mrs. Zella Mae Rickabaugh of Des Moines, Dean Waddle of Killduff and a brother Ulrie Clevenger of Prairie City. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and 6 step great grandchildren. She was preceded by her parents, husband, son – Dwight, 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
