Services Thursday
Services for Gwendolyn Z. Waddle will be held Thursday, March 21, 2002, at First Baptist Church in Monroe. Pastor Greg Baum will officiate the services. Burial will be in Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
Gwen passed away Monday, March 18, 2002 at her home.
Born November 6, 1920 in Prairie City, Iowa, Gwendolyn was the daughter of George William and Dorothy Dessa (Deere) Graham. She graduated from Prairie City High School in 1938. She co-owned the hardware store in Monroe, which was sold in 1979, worked at Younkers, and Monroe Mirror. She was a lifelong resident of the area. Gwen belonged to the First Baptist Church and Mothers Club.
Survivors are one son, Dwight G. Waddle (Judith) of Monroe, three daughters, Sue Ellen Trow (Jim) of Ames, Mary M. Laugner (Ron) of Newton, and Elizabeth Anne Schiller (Bill), of Ottumwa; 9 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. She also leaves a sister, Reverend Mercedes Booher of Hillsboro, Wisconsin.
Gwen was preceded in death by her parents and a husband in 1998.
Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church.
