Life Story of Mrs. Emma Waddle
Mrs. James (Emma E.) Waddle, 88, of Montezuma, a resident of the Monroe community until 1963, died Wednesday, March 22 at the Community Hospital in Pella.
Funeral services were held Friday at Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home in Pella. Paul Geveden conducted the services. Burial was in Dunreath Cemetery, southwest of Monroe.
Memorial contributions to the Christian Home near Council Bluffs will be accepted. Memorials may be left at the funeral home.
Survivors are a son, Earl of Monroe, a daughter, Mrs. Millard (Dorothy) Farmer of Montezuma, four grandchildren, Mrs. Gerrit (Jean) Renaud of Pella, Robert Waddle of Monroe, Mrs. Edward (Judith) Cowman of West Des Moines, and Mrs. Marvin (Nancy) Renaud of Grinnell and 15 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James, an infant daughter, five brothers and three sisters.
The daughter of George A. and Mary E. Sager Templeton, Mrs. Waddle was born September 13, 1885 in Marion County near Monroe.
She was married to James Waddle, December 5, 1906, at Knoxville. Mr. and Mrs. Waddle made their home on the farm southwest of Monroe until Mr. Waddle’s death in 1963. At that time Mrs. Waddle went to make her home with her daughter, Dorothy, at Montezuma.
