Services held
Funeral services were held Thursday, February 14, 1985 for Mrs. Cornelia Vriezelaar at the First Baptist Church in Monroe. Dr. Donald Brong and Rev. Robert Fisher officiated. Interment was in Silent City Cemetery.
Cornelia Jeanette, daughter of John F. and Maggie Visser Hiemstra, was born on October 2, 1900 near Otley, Iowa. On January 21, 1920 she was united in marriage with Henry William Vriezelaar at Otley and to this union six children were born: Arthur, Madeline, John, Velma, Mary and Coralee.
She passed away February 12, 1985 at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.
Surviving are her six children and their spouses: Arthur and Eileen Vriezelaar of Monroe, Madeline and Loren West of Pleasant Hill, John and Twila Vriezelaar of Monroe, Velma and William Rice of Columbia, Iowa; Mary and William Schendel of Marshalltown; Coralee and William Woody of Phoenix, Ariz. She leaves 12 grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, two brothers and four sisters.
Preceding her in death besides her husband were two granddaughters, her parents, three sisters, and a brother.
