Service Held
Arthur Vriezelaar, 66, of Monroe, died Tuesday, March 24, 1987 at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.
Funeral services were held Friday at the Monroe First Baptist church.
Rev. John Adams and Rev. Robert Fisher officiated. Burial was in Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
Survivors are his wife Eileen; two sons, Arthur Terrance of Monroe and Jeffrey of San Jose, Calif.; a daughter, Elizabeth (Mrs. Philip) of Encinitas, Calif.; and two grandchildren. Also surviving are four sisters: Madeline West of Monroe; Velma Rice of Columbia, Iowa; Mary Schendel of Marshalltown and Coralee Woody of Phoenix, Ariz. and a brother John of Monroe. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The son of Henry and Cornelia Hiemstra Vriezelaar he was born near Otley, Iowa on November 23, 1920.
He was married to Eileen Clarke Oct. 3, 1945 in England.
