Major Donald Vriezelaar, 45, U.S.A.F., son of Mrs. William A. Vriezelaar of Otley, passed away following a heart attack at Wichita, Kan. Sunday, October 9.
Major Vriezelaar was born and reared in Otley, graduated from Central College, directed the Air Force Choir, and assisted with youth work in the chapel.
He had 20 years of service in the Air Force.
Services were held Tuesday at the McConnel Air Force Base. Interment was in the Arlington Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Lt. Don Vriezelaar; a daughter; his mother, Mrs. Carrie Vriezelaar; two brothers, Roy and Wm. T. Vriezelaar, both in California; one sister, Mrs. Victor (Irene) Hawk, in Des Moines; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
Attending services at Wichita, Kan. were Mrs. Carrie Vriezelaar of Otley, Mr. and Mrs. Cornie Vanden Baard, Mr. and Mrs. Jess Vriezelaar and Mrs. Lucille Buwalda of Pella.
