Services Held
Funeral services for Carrie Verwers, 78, of Prairie City were held Saturday, Feb. 28, 1987 at the First Reformed Church in Prairie City. The Rev. Neal Busker, pastor of the church, conducted services. Burial was in the Oakwood Cemetery in Pella.
She died Tuesday at the Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines.
Survivors are her husband, Henry; three stepsons, Loren Verwers and Lawrence Verwers, both of Prairie City and Clifford Verwers of Fort Worth, Tex.; seven step grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; and a brother, Rick Hulleman of Otley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Marion, and a sister, Jeannetta.
The daughter of Henry and Alice Heemstra Hulleman, she was born Nov. 24, 1908 in Marion County and was educated in Marion County schools.
She was married March 1, 1973 in Nashua.
