Services were held Friday, June 13, 1986 at 2 p.m. at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe for Lula Irene Simbro.
Lula, age 58, passed away on June 10, 1986 at the Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa from a heart ailment.
She was born at Monroe on July 24, 1927, the daughter of Clyde and Rose Annie Wolver Thomasson. She was a member of the Des Moines Register’s 1946 All-State Sixth team in basketball. She married Leroy Simbro in 1949.
She is survived by her three sisters: Nellie (Mrs. John) Strickland, Dallas Texas; Viola (Mrs. D. B.) Carter, Monroe; and Gladys (Mrs. Clyde) Snook, Newton plus nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Interment was in Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
