Services Held
Funeral services for Douglas E. Sibert, 37, of Des Moines, a former resident of Jasper county, was held Saturday, November 2, at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.
The Rev. Duwayne Hanke, pastor of the Community Reformed Church conducted services. Burial was in the Newton Union Cemetery.
Memorials to Hospice of Central Iowa or the American Cancer Society may be left at the funeral home.
He died Tuesday evening at his home of cancer.
Survivors are his father, A. E. “Joe” Sibert of rural Newton; his mother, Lois Timmons of Des Moines; a brother, Mike Sibert of Ackworth; and a sister, Becky (Mrs. Carl) Van Ryswyk of Prairie City.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Mr. Siebert, an over the road truck driver, was a member of the United Rodeo Association and Iowa Cowboys Rodeo Association.
The son of A. E. “Joe” and Lois Alford Timmons Sibert, he was born October 4, 1954, in Newton, was a 1973 graduate of Monroe Community High School and attended Newton schools.
He had resided in the Monroe, Runnells, Des Moines, Grinnell and Leon communities.
