Monroe – Larry Eugene Shultz, 54,of Houston, Texas, formerly of Monroe died Thursday, Oct. 7, 2004, in the Monarch Wing of Skiff Medical Center in Newton.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Monroe Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Ann Rouse officiating. Burial will be at Silent City Cemetery in Monroe. Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe is handling arrangements.
Visitation will be held today from 2 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 6 until 8 p.m. The family has designated that any memorial gifts be given to the Larry E. Shultz memorial fund.
Shultz and his twin brother Garry were born in Osceola on April 8, 1950, the sons of Edward and Mildred (Layton) Shultz. He graduated from Monroe High School with the class of 1968. He served in the U.S. Army from 1969 until 1972. In the early 1980s, he moved to Houston, Texas. There, he was titled executive production assistant in the advertising department of Foley’s Department Store. He enjoyed his job and loved art.
He is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ernest and Iva Shultz of Monroe and Garry Shultz and Phyllis (Woods-Paul) of Tucson, Ariz.; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Linda and Robert Marshall and Carolyn Penning, all of Newton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Kathy Sue Shultz; and a nephew.
