Services Held
Leon M. Shore, 73, of Newton, died Sunday, Dec. 14, 1986 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.
The Rev. William Burns, pastor of the Baxter Congregational United Church of Christ, conducted services. Burial was in the Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors are two sons, Leon Jay Shore of El Cajon, Calif., and Dean Shore of Des Moines; a daughter, Janice (Mrs. Larry) Schmidt of Baxter; 17 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; a brother, Corwin Shore of Knoxville; and two sisters, Mary Neff of Monroe and Dorothy Copeland of Fort Madison.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Maude, a daughter, Wanda June McKinney and a sister, Erma Wagner.
The son of Jessie and Lettie Ghrist Shore, he was born Dec. 13, 1913 in Lucas County.
He was married to Maude Reha Neff Feb. 7, 1932 in Knoxville.
