Life Story of Marjorie Sherwood
Mrs. Marjorie Blanch Sherwood, 54, passed away June 23 at Collins Hospital in Knoxville.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday June 25 (today) at the Monroe United Methodist Church. Rev. Warren J. McFate, minister of the church will officiate. Burial will be in Monroe Silent City Cemetery.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Norman (Judy) Sneller of Monroe and Mrs. Mark (Jane) McConeghey of Iowa City; and a granddaughter, Rhonda Sneller of Monroe; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. H. LeGrand of Monroe, and two sisters, Mrs. Henderson (Marzette) Reese of Otley and Mrs. Charles (Lois) Jones of Scottsdale, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Jo, in infancy.
Mrs. Sherwood was a member of the Monroe United Methodist church and the Fairview Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star.
She had been employed as a secretary at Vander Ploeg Garage in Monroe for several years.
The daughter of Harrison and Nettie McCullough LeGrand, she was born January 29, 1916 in Marion County. She was a graduate of Monroe High School.
A lifelong resident of the Monroe area, she was married to Robert Sherwood November 7, 1936.
