Services Held
Chancey Robert Sherman of Ames died Sunday, Sept. 28, 1986 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. He was 67.
Services for Mr. Sherman were held Wednesday, Oct. 1 at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Emmetsburg. The Rev. Byron Ayers officiated. Burial was in the Graettinger Cemetery.
Chancey R. Sherman was born Feb. 10, 1919, in Kossuth County, Iowa. He was the son of Nicklass and Florence (Sankey) Sherman.
Mr. Sherman was formerly of Monroe. He lived most of his life in Emmetsburg.
Survivors include five children Jerry and wife Carol of Otley, John and wife Sharon of Forest City, Don of Boone, Chancey, Jr. and wife Bonnie of Waukee and Mrs. Dan (Betty) Rosenstiel of Corwith; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Marvin (Flossie) Moffitt, Mrs. Ed (Nellie) Schubert and Mrs. Dorothy Mitchell all from Estherville.
Mr. Sherman was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Lucille Morman.
