Services Held
James Theron Shannon, 86, of Des Moines died Wednesday evening, June 5, 1985 at the Embassy Manor.
Funeral services were held Monday at the Merle Hay Mortuary in Des Moines. The Rev. Craig Palmer conducted services. Burial was in Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
Survivors are a son, Edward, of Des Moines; a daughter, Mary Effie Wearmouth of Newton; two grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Also surviving are two brothers, Clyde of Joliet, Quebec, Canada, and Carl of Wheaton, Ill.
The son of Glover J. and Mary Pearl Shannon, he was born Dec. 1, 1898 in Reasnor.
He lived in Monroe before moving to Des Moines.
