Carl Shannon, 77, died Tuesday, Sept. 15, 1987 at home.
The son of Glover and Mary Shannon, he was born Jan. 23, 1910 in Monroe, Iowa.
He married Agnes Van Zante on June 28, 1933 who preceded him in death.
He is survived by two daughters by his first wife, Esther (Carl) Hanson and Carolyn Wiegel, both of St. Petersburg, Fla.; also survived by his wife, Charlotte; four sons, David (Diane) Shannon of Palatine, Christopher (Candy) Shannon of Wheaton, Paul (Rita) Shannon of Abilene, Texas and John (Mary) Shannon of West Chicago; 13 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and a brother, Clyde (Elizabeth) Shannon of Quebec, Canada.
Services were held Sept. 18 at the Hanerhoff-Hultgren Funeral Home in Wheaton. The Rev. Paul Stenstrom officiated. Burial was in Chapel Hill Gardens, Elmhurst.
