Services for Charlotte A. Shannon were held April 17, 2002, at the Wheaton Bible Church. She passed away Saturday, April 13, 2002, at Manor Care in Westomont. Interment was in Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery, Oakbrook Terrace.
Charlotte was a graduate of Manastee High School and attended Moody Bible Institute, where she met her husband, Carl Shannon. They were married on June 24, 1939. A key member of the Wheaton Community, she was an active member of Wheaton Bible Church, a charter member of the Wheaton History Center, and an active volunteer at Morton Arboretum.
Surviving are her daughters, Esther Hanson of Pennsylvania and Carolyn Yeaney of North Carolina; sons, David (Diane) Shannon of Wheaton, Paul (Rita) Shannon of Colorado, and John (Mary) Shannon of Sycamore; sister Florence (Vance) Peterson of Michigan; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Carl. Carl had been active in the Monroe Baptist Church and Carl’s brother Clyde who had been a missionary sponsored by the Monroe Baptist Church, and his other brother Theron.
