Funeral services for Hazel E. Shaffer were held at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe April 18, 1988. Rev. Jerry McGee officiated with interment in Silent City Cemetery.
Hazel E. Shaffer, age 90, passed away at the Iowa Masonic Home at Bettendorf, Iowa, on Thursday, April 14, 1988. She was born at Monroe on November 14, 1897, the daughter of Melvin and Etta Pendroy Rinehart. On August 26, 1928 she was united in marriage to Ray Shaffer at Monroe. She taught in the Monroe schools for a number of years.
Surviving is her son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Phyllis Shaffer of Davenport and 2 grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband and a brother Ralph Rinehart.
