Mrs. Danie Kingery Shaffer was born January 24, 1869 and died August 11, 1922, aged 53 years, 6 months and 18 days
She was married Feb. 7, 1889 to Neal Shaffer, who with their only child, Ray Shaffer, are left to mourn her departure.
She united with the Church of Christ under the ministry of E. L. Nickle Oct. 29, 1893, and remained steadfast in the faith until called from labor to reward, and chose before her departure, for her pallbearers, her former schoolmates, and the songs “Will There Be Any Stars in My Crown?”, “God Be With You Till We Meet Again,” “Does Jesus Care?” and also the Scripture passage, John 14, from which her funeral was to be preached.
She was a loyal follower of Christ, a sincere friend, a faithful wife, a devoted daughter and an affectionate mother.
She suffered much in her last sickness which she endured with patience and Christian fortitude, cheered and sustained by the hope of a home on the shadow less Shore and a future life in the “Land of the unclouded day.”
The funeral was conducted by Elder C. H. Strawn, of Altoona, Iowa on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock in the Baptist church.
Card of Thanks – We wish to thank the friends and neighbors for their kindness during the sickness and death of our wife and mother, also for the beautiful floral tributes. Neal Shaffer and Ray Shaffer
