Services Held
Services for Violet E. Schultz, Reasnor, were held Friday, February 5, 1999, at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home in Newton. Rev. Duane Skidmore, pastor of the Reasnor United Methodist Church in Reasnor officiated the services. Burial was in Palo Alto Cemetery in rural Newton.
Violet passed away Tuesday, February 2, 1999, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton of complications of a stroke.
Memorials will be accepted to the Reasnor United Methodist church.
The daughter of Arthur J. and Mary A. Marshall Smith, Violet was born November 2, 1905, in rural Reasnor. She was a graduate of the Monroe Iowa Senior High School. She attended the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. Violet was a homemaker and taught rural country school for five years. She married Lewie W. Schultz on April 17, 1929 in rural Reasnor. Violet was a lifelong resident of Reasnor. She belonged to the Reasnor United Methodist Church since she was 11 years old.
Survivors are one daughter, Marilyn Walker and her husband, Duane, of Reasnor; three grandchildren and their spouses: Kevin and Janice Walker, Janna and Doug Klein, and Connie and Jary Hoskey; 7 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Violet was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lewie on April 28, 1965; a granddaughter, Regina Walker; her twin infant brother; three sisters: Lettie M. Smith, Iona S. Smith, and Florence Van Wyngarden.
