Funeral of Mrs. Schultz Today
Was Born in New York State – Died at Her Home New Years Eve – Burial at Lutheran Cemetery
Mrs. L. M. Schultz, well-known resident of Reasnor, died New Years eve at her home following a brief illness from influenza.
Funeral services will be conducted this afternoon at the home in Reasnor at 12:30, conducted by Rev. Pritchard, the pastor, assisted by Rev. Schultz of Kellogg, after which a short service will be held at the German Lutheran church near Galesburg at 1:30. Burial will be made in the churchyard cemetery.
Deceased is survived by the husband, three sons, Lewis M.; Henry F. and John, all of Reasnor; three sons preceding her in death; one sister, Mrs. Charley Birkenholtz of Monroe and one brother Fred Rhodanz of Reasnor and twelve grandchildren.
Mrs. Schultz was born at Niagara Falls, New York and her father was the engineer who built the International Bridge from the United States to Canada at that place.
January 1, 1875 she was united in marriage to Lewis Schultz and later moved with her husband to Reasnor where she has taken important part in church and civic circles.
Mrs. Schultz leaves to mourn her loss a host of friends over the county.
The pallbearers were her four grandsons and two nephews: Lewis Schultz, Melvin Schultz, Lawerence Schultz, Joe Schultz, Carl Van Dusseldorp and Frances Van Dusseldorp.
Musical numbers were furnished by Mrs. Earl Guthrie, Mr. Clarence Tool, Mr. George Tool, Mrs. Pritchard and Mrs. Myrtle Graffis, who sang “Old Rugged Cross.” “Abide with Me.” and “Beautiful Isle of Somewhere”, all favorites of the deceased.
