Services Held
Mary G. DeBruyn Schnug, 92, a former resident of Galesburg, died Jan. 14, 1988 at the Skiff Medical Center in Newton.
Funeral services were held Saturday at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home in Newton.
The Rev. Timothy Miller, pastor of the Reasnor United Methodist Church conducted services. Burial was in the Hewitt Cemetery in Reasnor.
Survivors are a son, Byron, of Andrews, Tex.; a daughter, Marjorie (Mrs. Earl) Hendricks of Reasnor; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; twin brothers, Darrell and Gerald DeBruyn, both of Newton; and three sisters, Leulla Heemsbergen and Bernice Kling, both of Des Moines and Clara Hoekstra of Richland.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, Todd DeBruyn and a sister, Maude Menninga.
The daughter of William C. and Anna DePenning DeBruyn, she was born April 23, 1895 in Jasper County.
She was married to Merlin Schnug Feb. 18, 1917 in Galesburg.
