Former Monroe Lady Dies in Chicago
Word was received here Sunday by relatives of the death of Mrs. Charley Scarbrough of Chicago Heights, Chicago.
Mrs. Scarbrough was born near Monroe, had lived here several years, later moving to Ames and passed away at the home of her son Floyd in Chicago.
The deceased is survived by her two sons, Floyd of Chicago and Hugh in Waterville, Wash.
A son, Dr. Claude Scarbrough, died on Jan. 18, 1939.

Funeral services were held for Mrs. Lulu Mae Scarbrough from the funeral home in Monroe Feb. 16.
Mrs. Scarbrough died at the Ingalls Memorial hospital in Chicago Heights after a five-day illness following the death of her son, the late Dr. C. M. Scarbrough of that place.
Mrs. Scarbrough was born near Monroe March 18, 1870. Her younger life was spent in Monroe. She resided in Ames, Iowa for 25 years, going to Chicago Heights after the death of her husband, Charles W. Scarbrough three years ago September last.
Survivors are two sons, William F. Scarbrough of Chicago Heights and Hugh A. Scarbrough of Waterville, Wash. and five grandchildren.
