Services Held
Funeral services for Mrs. Ira (Maude) Scarbrough, 98, were held Saturday, March 31, 1984 at the United Methodist Church in Monroe.
She died Thursday, March 29, at the Clearview Manor in Prairie City.
Dr. Otto Steele, Jr., pastor of the church conducted the services. Burial was in the Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
Survivors are two sons, Floyd of Chino, Calif., and Gene of Newton; two daughters, Joy McCauley of Monroe and Mrs. Frank (Nina) Matthews of Manassas, Va.; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four sisters, two brothers, and a son, Rex.
Mrs. Scarbrough was a member of the United Methodist Church and a member and teacher of the Martha’s and Mary’s Sunday School class.
The daughter of Henry and Alice Jones Thomason, she was born Jan. 1, 1886 at Monroe.
She was married Jan. 14, 1907 in Prairie City.
