Resolutions of Respect of Buena Vista Grange, No. 554, P. of H., Murphy, Iowa, on the death of R. P. Holmes:

WHEREAS, It has pleased an all wise Providence to remove from us by death our highly esteemed brother R. P. Holmes, and

WHEREAS, We, his associates, neighbors, sisters and brothers, deem it a duty to give an expression to our sentiments in relation to this afflicting dispensation, therefore

RESOLVED, That in the death of R. P. Holmes our order loses a worthy and useful member of society, an honorable and courteous Christian, and valuable citizen, and the children an affectionate parents.

RESOLVED, That we tender to the family and friends of the deceased our sympathies, and that a copy of these resolutions to be sent to the children at home and be spread on the minutes; also a copy be furnished to the Newton papers and Kellogg enterprise for publication. ~ The Newton Journal, Newton, Iowa 5 April 1893.
