Mrs. Sadie Elizabeth Russell, wife of Rev. R. C. Russell, former pastor of the Methodist Episcopal church in Monroe, died suddenly Thursday at her home, 1214 Twenty-second street, Des Moines, following a heart attack.
Mrs. Russell was born at Jamaica Long Island, New York and lived there until she came to Iowa. She was united in marriage to Rev. R. C. Russell in 1886 and to this union were born two children, Dorothy M. Russell who is deaconess in the Methodist church work in Denver and a son Kenneth B. Russell of Basin, Wyoming.
Mrs. Russell with Rev. Russell moved from Monroe to Des Moines the past fall, where Rev. Russell had taken up work in the financial department of the Methodist church traveling over the country out of Des Moines. The first part of the winter Mrs. Russell was with him and had just recently returned to Des Moines for the winter.
On Wednesday, Mrs. Russell accompanied Rev. Russell in Monroe, where he assisted in the funeral of Mrs. E. W. Henry, returning to Des Moines in the afternoon. On Thursday morning she went about her house work as usual and was down in the basement running the vacuum cleaner, when Rev. Russell heard her fall. When he reached her she was dead.
