Life Story of Birton Rush
Birton Rush, son of Lilly Ver Dught Rush and the late William Rush, passed away suddenly of a heart attack August 25 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
He was born in Jasper County and attended grade school north of Monroe at the old Hummel School. Early in life he moved with his parents to Des Moines where he graduated from high school in 1936. He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors are his wife, Helen; a son, James; his mother, Mrs. Lilly Rush; a brother, Bernard; six sisters, Margaret Lee of Atwater, Calif., Pauline Dunsmore of LaMesa, Calif., Catherine Lynch of Studio City, Calif., Dorothy Pooler of Los Angeles, Calif., Helen Coones of Mission, Kans., and Shirley Dunagan of Altoona, Ia.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Rush.
Funeral services were held at the Eldon Good Funeral Home Tuesday at Cincinnati. Ohio.
Mr. Rush was a nephew of Lester Ver Dught of Monroe.
