Services Held
Services for Steward Ivan Ross of Monroe were held Tuesday, August 8, 2000, at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe. Rev. John Zieman officiated the services. Interment was in Gifford Cemetery in Monroe.
Steward Ivan Ross, age 91, died Friday, August 3, 2000, at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines.
Mr. Ross was born in Jasper County, Iowa, June 12, 1909, the son of William Albert and Etta Steward Ross. A lifelong Monroe area resident, Ivan, had worked as a crane operator for many years. He was united in marriage to Georgia Lewis on January 21, 1939.
Ivan is survived by his wife, Georgia, two daughters, Mary Stewart of Monroe and Linn Zibert of Newton and one son, Carl Ross; three brothers, Otis Ross of Monroe, Blaine Ross of Sun City, Arizona, and Wilbur Ross of Glendale, Arizona; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents, two daughters, June Monroe and Ida Baldwin; one son, Gene Ron; grandson, Mike Housley, one brother, Edgar and one sister, Lola Foreman.
