Life Story of Etta Ross
Etta Ross, daughter of Edgar J. and Mary E. Steward, was born December 5, 1883, in Tama County, Iowa and passed away April 5, 1965.
She was united in marriage to William A. Ross of Jasper County, Iowa, at Cedar Vale, Kan. September 23, 1903. To this union six children were born, five sons and one daughter, namely, Charles Edgar of Colfax, Steward Ivan and Otis A. of Monroe, Lola W. Forman of Red Wing, Minn., Wilbur A. of Grandville, Mich. and Blaine A. of Phoenix, Ariz.
Etta’s earlier years were spent near Cedar Vale, Kan. and during this time at the age of 12 years she gave her heart to the Lord. Upon returning to Iowa after marriage she and her husband became members at Tool’s Chapel and at Reasnor Methodist churches.
She leaves to mourn her passing six children, 21 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren; three brothers, Arden H., Rush E. and Clarence Steward of Cedar Vale, Kan.; one sister, Alma I. Call of Sweet Home, Ore.; and a host of relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, age one year, her husband, William A., and four grandchildren.
Rev. Poulson of the Monroe Methodist Church conducted the services at the church April 8.
Pallbearers were Dale Ross, David Davis, Harry Lewis, Melvin Abramson, Donald Foreman and Bob Monroe.
