Life Story of Mrs. G. Roozeboom
Mrs. Gysbert Roozeboom, 79, passed away January 19 at the Mahaska Hospital in Oskaloosa.
Mrs. Roozeboom, the former Johanna Hol, was born in Utrecht, Netherlands, March 21, 1892, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arie Hol. She lived with her parents and her younger brothers and sister in the Otley area after coming to America.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Henry Hol; her husband, Gysbert Roozeboom; and two sons, Henry J. and John W. Roozeboom.
Survivors are five children, Mrs. Roy (Evadena) DeBruin of Cedar, Arie H. Roozeboom of Prairie City, Gilbert Roozeboom of Pella, Henry Roozeboom of Knoxville and Gerrit Roozeboom of Oskaloosa; 29 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a sister, Mrs. Gerrit (Minnie) Beekhuizen of Oskaloosa; and four brothers, Gerrit Hol of Tracy, John Hol of Davenport, and Arie and Bert Hol, both of Pella.
Funeral services were held in the First Christian Reformed Church in Oskaloosa. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Leighton.
