Mrs. Romans Died Wed. in Newton Home
Funeral Services To Be In Reasnor Fri.; Burial at Monroe
Mrs. Mary Romans, 94-year-old Jasper county resident, died Wednesday at 1:40 p.m. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. E. Efnor in Newton, following a light stroke suffered a few hours prior to her death. Mrs. Romans had been failing in strength the past several months, but had been confined to her bed for only three weeks.
Mrs. Romans had lived on the old Romans homestead south of Reasnor, near what is known as the Roman’s lake, until last September, since which time she has made her home with her daughter.
Surviving relatives include her daughter, Mrs. Efnor, three sons, Wallace L., Des Moines; Frank, Mitchellville and Clyde of Reasnor; Mrs. Mahala Carney of Newton and Mrs. Bessie Butin of Galesburg. One brother, Aaron Wood of Monroe, survives. She was preceded in death by her husband, A. D. Romans and two daughters, one of who died in infancy.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Methodist Episcopal church in Reasnor by Rev. R. E. Hodgson. Burial will be in the family lot in the Monroe cemetery.
