Services for James Bond Romans, age 92 of Maryland, formerly of Monroe will be held Thursday, October 19, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe with burial following at Silent City Cemetery. Visitation for Mr. Romans will be held on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
James Bond Romans died Thursday, October 12, 2006 in Maryland.
Memorials may be given to Central College, Office of College Advancement and mailed to Central College Campus Box 5200, 812 University, Pella, Iowa 50219. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.
The son of William Hilborn and Lydia Grace (Bond) Romans, James was born on January 24, 1914, in Monroe. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Rose, who passed away in 1997. James worked for the Department of the Navy as a chemist.
Those left to honor his memory are his children: James R. Romans, William R. Romans, and Larry D. Romans as well as nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents and wife in 1997.
