Life story of Mrs. Bert Robison
Mrs. Bert (Ethel Gay) Robison of Monroe passed away at Skiff Memorial Hospital in Newton Tuesday, July 15. She was 77 years, five months and 15 days of age at the time of her death. She and her husband had resided in the Reasnor and Monroe areas for the past 45 years, where they farmed until retiring to Monroe.
Ethel was born in Prairie City on January 28, 1892, the daughter of George A. and Ella Daniels Roberts, Sr.
On February 27, 1913, at Rock Island, Ill., she was married to Bert Robison. There were three children born to this marriage. They are Mrs. Ruby Margaret Wright of Newton; Harry Robert (Bob) Robison of Monroe and Mrs. Lester (Helen Viola) Powell of Pleasantville. Besides her husband and children there are eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren surviving her along with a sister, Mrs. Alfred (Edith) Luck of Newton.
Mrs. Robison was preceded in death by her parents, two grandchildren and a brother, George A. Roberts, Jr.
Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. John N. Porter, pastor of the United Presbyterian Church of Monroe, at the Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Monroe Thursday morning, July 17, at 10:30 p.m.
Mrs. Philip Van Eckeren sang “Good Night and Good Morning” and “In The Garden” accompanied by Lois Carter.
Casket bearers were W. C. Deitrick, Marvin Garland, Guy Reeves, Bernard Van Wyngarden, Francis Van Dusseldorp and Clyde Thomasson.
Interment was in the Silent City Cemetery of Monroe.
