Services Held
David A. Rexroat Sr., 79, of Monroe died Saturday, February 2, 1991 at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Monroe Presbyterian Church.
Dr. Thomas N. Bass, pastor of the church conducted services and burial was in Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
Survivors are his wife, Mary; a son, David Jr. of Monroe; six daughters, Carolyn (Mrs. Gary) Suplee, Donna Rexroat and JoAnn (Mrs. Kenneth) Acklin, all of Monroe, Charlene (Mrs. Richard) McCoy of Indianola, Carol Rexroat of Altoona and Janet (Mrs. Gary) Taylor of Lena, Ill.; eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren; a brother, Donald of Newton, and three sisters, Fern Rexroat and Marguerite Den Hoedt, both of Knoxville, and Helen Waits of Pella.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Freda, a brother, Walter, a grandson, and a brother in infancy.
Mr. Rexroat, a 12 year member of the Monroe Fire Department, was a truck driver until his retirement in 1970.
The son of Frank and Minnie Strahn Rexroat, he was born January 2, 1912, in Dunreath.
He was married to Mary Birkenholz October 27, 1937, at Prairie City.
