Funeral services were held July 19 at the United Methodist Church, Monroe, for Ted F. Reetz, 72, who died July 14 at Skiff Memorial Hospital in Newton. Officiating was the Rev. Jerry Wolcott.
Mrs. J. M. Dockum sang “The Old Rugged Cross” accompanied by organist Mrs. John LeGrand. Casket bearers were Henderson Reese, Bruce Walker, Forrest Walker, Lloyd Zickel, Devayne Honnold and Donald Livingston. Burial was in the Silent City Cemetery, Monroe.
Ted F. Reetz was born Apr. 20, 1904 at Anoka, Neb., the son of the Henry Reetz. He was engaged in the farm implement business in Monroe for 33 years. On Aug. 10, 1939 he married Margaret Floyd.
Reetz was a member of the United Methodist Church of Monroe and the Fairview Masonic Lodge No. 194. He was also a member of the Monroe Community Club.
Surviving are his wife and daughter, Rebecca Marie Reetz, of Arlington, Mass. Also surviving are two brothers, Walter, of Gregory, S.D.; Martin, of Clark, Mo.; and one sister, Marie, Mrs. Dello Turney, of McAllen, Tex.
Preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers and four sisters.
Memorials have been designated for the United Methodist Church memorial fund.

Life Story of Ted F. Reetz
Ted F. Reetz, 72, a longtime resident of Monroe, died Wednesday at the Skiff Memorial Hospital in Newton.
Funeral services were held Monday at the United Methodist Church in Monroe.
The Rev. Jerry Wolcott, pastor of the church conducted services.
Burial was in the Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
Survivors are his wife, Margaret; a daughter, Rebecca Marie Reetz of Arlington, Mass.; two brothers, Walter of Gregory, S.D., and Martin of Clark, Mo.; and a sister, Mrs. Dello (Marie) Turney of McAllen, Tex.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
Mr. Reetz as a member of the United Methodist Church of Monroe, the Fairview Masonic Lodge No. 194, and a past member of the Monroe Community Club.
Mr. Reetz had been in the implement business in Monroe 34 years.
The son of Henry and Hedwig Scheer Reetz, he was born April 20, 1904 in Anoka, Neb.
He was married to Margaret Floyd Aug. 10, 1939 in Des Moines.
