Services Held
Funeral services for Lena Rees were held June 4, 1985 at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe. She passed away on June 2.
Dr. Otto Steele, Jr. officiated with interment in Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
She was the daughter of George and Mary (Barber) Koder, Lena was born in Red Rock, Iowa on Nov. 26, 1888. She married Claude Rees in Newton on December 31, 1906. They had one son, Carl.
Lena spent most of her life in Knoxville, Prairie City and Monroe. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four sisters, son, daughter-in-law, and two grandsons. She is survived by a sister, Jennie (Goldie) Jones of Monroe, three granddaughters, two grandsons, one foster grandson, eleven great grandchildren, four step great granddaughters, one great-great-grandson and six step great-great-grandsons.
