Services Held
Mrs. Willa Mae Reeder of Woodway passed away Sunday, December 20, 1992, in a Waco, Texas hospital.
Services were held Wednesday at the Seventh and James Baptist Church with Dr. Dan Bagby officiating. Burial was in Waco Memorial Park.
Mrs. Reeder was born September 24, 1929, in Otley, Iowa. She received her B.S. in Biology from Wheaton College in Illinois in 1951, and her M.S. in Zoology from Iowa State University in 1956.
She attended college in Pella and taught three years in high schools in surrounding areas. She married Charles Reeder on September 1, 1956, and they moved to Maine for one year then moved to Waco, Texas. She taught at Baylor University, Robinson High School, Texas State Technical Institute and was completing her 15th year at McLennan Community College. She had also previously worked for the McLennan County Health Department. She was a member of Seventh and James Baptist church and of the Wammack Sunday School Class.
Survivors are her husband, Charles Reeder of Waco; daughter, Ruth Hanson of Columbia, South America; sons, John Reeder of Amarillo, Texas, James Reeder of Hampton, Virginia; sisters, Sara Joann Pennington of Osage, Iowa, Arla Jane Van Den Berg of Ankeny, Iowa, Margaret Ellen Roth of Decatur, Illinois; two grandchildren, Sarah Hanson and Rebekah Reed.
