Services for Carroll LaVerne Rector were held June 23, 2006, at Monroe United Methodist Church. Interment was at Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
Carroll LaVerne Rector, age 80 of Newton died Tuesday, June 20, 2006, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton. Memorials may be given to the LaVerne Rector Memorial Fund and online condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.
The son of Cecil and Gladys (Fouch) Rector, LaVerne was born on July 3, 1925, in Fairview Township, Iowa. On May 23, 1948, he was united in marriage to Doris Klein, to this union two daughters were born. LaVerne farmed his entire life in the Monroe area. He was also a member of the Monroe United Methodist Church and enjoyed traveling.
Survivors are a daughter, Cindy Dykstra and her husband Craig of Canon City, Colorado, a grandson, Michael Van Engen, two great grandchildren, Cedar and Victoria, a sister-in-law, Janet Galloway of Newton and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, wife, and daughter, Kathy.
