Services held
Services for Beatrice I. Rankin, 92, of Heritage Manor Care Center in Newton, formerly of Reasnor were held March 29, 1999, at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home. Rev. Robert Waters, pastor at St. Andrew’s Lutheran church and Rev. Edwin Bausell, Missionary to the Sioux Indians in Mission, S.D. officiated the services. Burial was in St. Andrew’s Cemetery.
Beatrice died March 25, 1999, at Heritage Manor Care Center of congestive heart failure.
The daughter of Henry Schultz and Mable Mathers, Beatrice was born July 3, 1906, at Reasnor, Iowa. She attended Capital City Commercial College. Beatrice was married to Harold E. Rankin, December 22,1928, in Kellogg She was a lifelong resident of Jasper county and lived on a family farm at Reasnor. She was a housewife and mother and helped operate the family farm. Beatrice belonged to the St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church at Elk Creek.
Survivors are two sons, Ronald and Betty Rankin of Reasnor and Richard and Karen Rankin of Reasnor; three daughters, Phyllis and Bob Holmes of Newton, Janet Funk of Newton, and Sandra Keeton of Mansfield, Texas; 12 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren.
